How Deep the Chasm within the Heart

How deep the chasm within my heart

that once separated me from

the grace of God, the Savior, Thou art.

Nothing I could ever do

could redeem me of my sins,

no, the mighty cost was paid by only You.

Jesus my Redeemer, Thou alone art worthy

to buy me with Your precious blood,

freely giving Your love and mercy.

Pride enchained me for years,

making me believe I could save me,

keeping me in a life of fear.

Preservation set in, walls built so high,

going at it on my own,

full of despair, yet not wondering why.

Till one day, with a broken heart,

realizing though while in my sin,

You were always there, right from the start.

My Savior had never given up on me,

He was only waiting till I turned to Him,

so He could finally set me free.

The point of it all,

the reason why He came,

was to free us from the great fall.

The fall that left us bound in sin

thinking if we just do good

when we die, into heaven we’ll be let in.

But our good is tainted with the pride of life,

thinking it’s what we do, not what He did for us;

but our “good” results in pain and strife.

The time before His return is drawing near,

oh, I pray you will listen to Him

as He calls to you, “To Me, draw near.”

Will you trust in Him, who said “It is finished,”

as He took on all our sins

so we could be saved and not be left to perish.

Or will you let your prideful heart

be the deep and wide chasm

that from the Savior forever keeps you apart? ✝️

The Greatest Gift

The greatest gift I could ever receive

was given by the One from the heaven He chose to leave.

This precious gift is worth more than any silver and gold;

and its matchless value to me continues to unfold.

I took of this gift many years ago

when I realized I needed Him and it was time to let go.

To let go of the weight that was burdening me,

the weight of my sins from which only He could set me free.

Born of a virgin two thousand years ago,

unlike any other the world has ever known.

The prophets wrote of Him years before He came,

unto us a Son is given and Emmanuel shall be His name.

God with us, He walked the earth, fully man and fully divine,

setting free the captives, as in their sin they pined.

This precious gift cannot be bought,

but a spiritual war is being fought,

a war for souls that’s being raged,

a war that’s been here since the dawn of human age.

No, this gift is freely given to all who will partake,

to partake in the promise that only He could make.

The promise is the gift of grace given to Him by God alone,

the One on whom God’s magnificent glory shone,

when to the shepherds an angel proclaimed,

“There is a Savior, who is Christ the Lord, born to you this day.”

I can’t give this gift to you, for it’s only His to give,

but if you accept His gift, you’ll know what it means to live,

to live a life set free from sin,

to be truly born again.

For God did not send His only Son to condemn us,

but that through Him He might save us.

The only thing required to receive this gift,

and no, He won’t force you to take it,

is to believe in Jesus the Christ, Mighty God, Prince of Peace.

Oh, how I pray that of this gift you’ll choose to receive,

for if you do, you shall not perish but have eternal life,

and live the way God intended it be, eternity without sin and strife,

full of His peace, mercy, grace, hope, and love,

with the One God sent from up above. ✝️

The Light

Though darkness surrounds me, with all its gloom and despair,

a world that’s being ruled

by the prince of the power of the air,

there is a great Light

that will never be extinguished,

for the Light comes from the One

who is the most distinguished.

This Light is available for all to see,

for it was given for you, it was given for me.

The Light penetrates the darkness,

showing the way,

the way that is narrow

and small is the gate.

But most seek the broad way

the way without the Light,

Embracing what is wrong,

what the world says is right,

loving their sin,

listening to the son of perdition.

But those who choose the narrow way,

the ones who follow the Light,

will stand alone in Him,

in His power and His might,

and have their slates wiped clean

by the Light that removes every sin, every stain.

Which way do you take,

for the choice is yours to make,

the wide way of darkness

and never-ending plight,

or the narrow way,

the way led by the Light?

Only one way leads to salvation,

where every chain that binds is broken;

all other ways lead to eternal darkness,

a nightmare from which you’ll never awaken.

Seek the Light now, His name is Jesus Christ,

let go of the darkness and turn to the Light.

He’s waiting for you,

He wants to set you free,

He’s saying, “Don’t wait till it’s too late

to turn to Me.”

Seek Him now while He still be found,

before your body is lying in the ground. ✝️

The Choice is Yours

The world cries out for a savior

but denies the One

who’s already come.

Look at the headlines and you will see

the world is ripe for the man of deceit.

HIs rise to power had already begun

in a world that rejects God’s only Son.

So many are blinded and cannot see

and deny the only One who can set them free.

The time is now to turn to Him,

the only One who can save our sins.

Don’t wait till it’s too late,

hurry, don’t wait!

No greater love was ever shown,

the choice is yours and yours alone. ❤️✝️

Only Jesus

Only Jesus can heal my pain,

Only Jesus can clean the stain.

He alone could pay the fee

that broke my chains and set me free.

When no one else is there with me,

He’s right there, carrying me.

For when it seems my strength is gone,

He says to me, “Carry on.”

“You’re My child and your sorrow will soon be gone,

hold on tightly, for the war is already won.

So don’t be sad, but remember this,

your suffering will turn to sweet bliss.

It’ll all be worth it, child of Mine,

you’ll know a love that is simply divine.”

October 28, 2022

Which Side Will You Choose?

There’s an emptiness inside me that only Jesus can fill.

There’s a pain in my heart that only He can heal.

There are sins I’ve done that only He can save me from,

For the war being raged He has already won.

He came to save the lost

and the price He paid was such a great cost.

Who else would leave their heavenly throne

where in God’s glory His radiance shone

and come down to earth

who from a virgin He was birthed?

He was baptized by John

who proclaimed to the world Jesus is the One,

the Son of God, the Light of the world,

the One who was there from the beginning, Jesus is the Word.

He chose His apostles, one by one,

together they walked the land,

declaring forgiveness of sins can only come

by believing in God’s only begotten Son.

He came to set the captives free,

for we are bound in our iniquity.

But instead of believing

most were grieving

for they did not want to admit their sin and shame

and in their pride they built a cross on which He would hang.

They thought by doing so

He would simply go,

and the faith that was called “The Way”

would simply go away.

They did not believe what Jesus would tell

when to Peter He said the gates of hell will not prevail.

For God’s will, will be done

and Jesus the Christ will yet again come.

But this time He won’t come as a Lamb

but as the Lion of Judah, the great I Am.

In all righteousness and truth,

He will judge the earth

and only those who are born again

will be spared, for Jesus saved them from all their sins.

I urge you, while you have breath in your lungs,

to consider your eternity, for one day yes, it will come.

We all have a choice to make, the greatest one of all,

just as Adam and Eve did, before the great fall.

Will we choose the side of evil,

the side of great sin

or will we choose the side of Light,

by believing on Jesus, the only One who can save us from our plight?

My friend, I pray you consider your fate

and turn to Jesus, before it’s too late. 🙏🏻✝️

When My Time on Earth is Done

When my time on earth is done,

and I’m finally with God’s only Son,

may those who knew me

recall what I told them,

salvation from sins can

only come from Him.

It’s not my word but His,

the One who created all there is.

May they turn to Him

before it’s too late

may they run to Him now

and no longer wait.

For one day, they too

will be gone from this earth,

the days pass so quickly

from the moment of birth.

And when they pass

from here to eternity,

I pray I’ll see them again

with our Savior,

the One who set us free,

free from the bondage of sin,

and when our true lives

will finally begin.

If you happen to read this

and are not saved,

I pray you’ll turn to Him,

before it’s too late. 🙏🏻✝️

The Glory of the King

The long days of summer quickly winding down,

a coolness now present in the air,

and soon my favorite time of year will be here.

Fall, in all its glory, reminding me of God’s presence everywhere.

Leaves of red, orange, yellow, and brown

paint the trees in vibrant color all around.

There’s just something about autumn

that reminds me still

that even with all this beauty

my true Home is yet to come

when I am finally with Jesus

the Christ, the King, God’s only begotten Son.

Oh, what a day that will be

When I will see Him standing before me!

Words will not be able to express what I will see

the matchless King of kings in all His glory.

Until then, I will praise Him everyday

for opening my eyes so that finally I could see.

This once wretched sinner is now forgiven

and one day I’ll be with Him, finally free.

My eyes will behold unmatched beauty and colors never seen,

for then and only then, will I know what it means

to truly be living. ✝️

Looking for Jesus

The signs are all around me,

showing me eternity is before me.

Unbelievers can’t see it,

but it’s oh so clear to those looking for it.

Waiting for the final trump to sound,

when the One in whom my hope is found

calls me Home,

and all His beautiful glory is shone.

All that I own while on this earth

is nothing compared to a soul re-birthed.

My treasure can’t be found here,

but on a golden shore where there are no tears.

Holy Spirit and His word guiding me,

saying, “Fear not, for I am with thee.”

Yea, though I walk through the valley,

He is there, right beside me.

It won’t be long, for in the blink of an eye,

there He will be,

and all who have longed to see

will be caught up to Him in the sky, so joyfully.

Until that day, I’ll continue my race,

trusting in Him,

knowing that soon I’ll see Him,

and we’ll finally be face-to-face. ✝️

God of Glory

Oh God of glory, I pray to Thee,

the One who set my captive heart free.

The One who came to the earth,

the One born of a virgin birth.

The One to whom my heart doth pray,

the One who’ll one day take my pain away.

Oh God of glory, I trust Your word,

which tells me that my prayers are heard.

Oh God of glory, the King divine,

The King I choose to call all mine.

My King is coming, yes this I know,

my King had made me new, as white as snow.

My King is coming, even little babes proclaim

though too young to even know His name.

Oh God of glory, I’m looking up to the sky,

for I know, I will soon behold You with my own eyes.

Until then, I will trust in You,

for Your delay is only to save others anew.

My Hope is in My King

Where is my hope found?

My hope is built on solid ground,

in the One in whom salvation is found.

I used to put my hope in me,

but that left me miserable and empty.

Then I put my hope in the leaders of the world

till I realized it’s only themselves they serve.

I finally came to the end of my rope,

when in Jesus I put my hope.

Though my eyes haven’t seen Him,

He bore that cross and took on all my sin.

His word and His Spirit light my way,

making sure I don’t go astray.

The days of our lives pass quickly by,

till one day for us our loved ones will cry.

But on that day I want them

to rejoice and sing,

for it is then that I will meet my King. 👑 ✝️

God's Great Love

I could write songs of praise,

with beautiful words and sweet melodies.

Or paint a picture of a majestic sky,

with shades of blue so pleasing to the eye.

I could climb the highest mountain,

proclaiming Your name to tens of thousands.

I could whisper softly to sweet newborn babes,

telling them of the One who in a manger laid.

I could travel both near and far, speaking of God’s great love,

through the One He sent from up above.

Oh, but there is nothing I could ever do

that compares to the love that was shown by You.

A love so deep, a love beyond compare,

a love that was the answer to all my prayers.

Until the day we finally meet,

a day when I will bow before Your feet,

I will keep Your promise in my heart,

that from me, You will never, ever depart.❤️✝️

Mornings with Jesus

Morning dew drips,

drips to the ground.

Cardinals and sparrows singing in the background.

Geese and ducks gently swimming in the lake,

leaving flowing water in their wake.

Morning fog slowly lifting,

beautifully revealing all His gifting.

The Creator of all,

the One who was there before the fall,

who loves us more than we could ever know.

From His wounds, His blood did flow.

The greatest gift only He could give

so that freed from sin, we could truly live. ✝️💕

The Eyes of A Believing Heart

The eyes of my believing heart can see that which unbelievers can’t perceive,

The love of my Savior, His living word guiding me.

For it’s only when we give our hearts to Him,

freed through grace from all our sin,

that our eyes are opened for the first time:

He was there all along saying, “Come to Me, I will give you new life.”

Are your eyes opened?

Are you on the narrow way?

Turn to Him, don’t wait till it’s too late. ✝️

February 23, 2022

The Love of Jesus

With eyes of scorn they looked on Him

who wore the crown of thorns,

disbelieving the Man who became flesh,

the only One who could save them, they sentenced to death.

The One who loved them till the end,

Who asked God to forgive them,

though they were filled with hate and sin.

He came to earth knowing He must die,

No greater love was shown to you and I.

It’s not too late to turn to Him,

He came once and He’s coming again.

I pray you can see

The love He has for you, for me. ❤️✝️

Beautiful Jesus

He longed for me, to set me free

but I wasn’t searching for a Savior.

I wanted to just be me,

to do what made me happy.

He was patient, waiting, never forcing,

all the while I was burning myself at both ends, miserable, tired, and worn.

Till one day, the weight was too much to bear. I realized, I can’t do this on my own.

I cried out to Him, please save me!

He called me His child, though I was grown.

That ton of bricks removed from me,

ah, at last, I could finally breathe!

I once was blind

but now I could see.

Beautiful Jesus,

I owe all to Thee. 💕✝️

Precious Jesus

Oh, that the world could see

That only Jesus can truly set us free.

Free of sin, forevermore,

In a world with Him, on God’s eternal shore.

Our brief lives on earth are just a moment

In the span of eternity with no opponent.

For there will be no sin, no shame,

Only glorying in His precious name.

His finished work up there on the cross

Came at such a great cost.

He gave His all for the world to see

The love He has for you and for me.

Will you turn to Him before it’s too late?

He’s coming soon, please, don’t wait.

Jesus, My Redeemer

In my deepest sorrow,

You were there to comfort me.

In my greatest joy,

You were there, praising with me.

In my deepest sin, You were there, waiting for me to let You lead me

instead of the one who brings me only pain.

When I breathe my last breath,

You’ll be there, leading me Home.

Fall

Fall, my favorite time of the year.

Taking morning walks and feeling

The touch of crisp, cool morning air.

Skies of blue and birds’ familiar calls,

Remind us of the One who created all.

Thank You, Lord, for loving us so,

Adding the beautiful details,

So we know You’re in control.

A Breath of Spring Air

Our baby, Michelle Ann,

due to be born in the spring

came too soon instead.

Unable to take her first and only breath of air,

God saved her from despair.

What followed were many days of tears and pain,

then Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year came.

1994 was gone,

and with it, so was my baby girl.

But with the new year came new hope,

and with each day, it became easier to cope.

Now spring is here, and with each new life that

breathes the air,

I know that Michelle Ann is there.

Spring 1995
